The folks from the Smarthistory blog are now using a group over at Flickr to put up images of artwork that help to both enhance the content of their site and to advance knowledge of the works themselves. The visual resources there are being uploaded in order to help contextualize artworks within their museum settings, enhance knowledge of the artworks themselves, spur social dialogue about art and its meanings as well as to use the the read/write web to harness the power of the crowd and aid in deepening knowledge and furthering information about art and its history.
