McAfee Antivirus Software To Be Replaced By ESET NOD32

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jessie Durand @ 10:20 am

If you are a Mac user please disregard this post. This change does not affect MAC computers at this time.

Who: All Staff and Faculty Using Windows Operating System Computers (i.e. Dells, etc.)

What: McAfee Antivirus Software To Be Replaced By ESET NOD32

When: Beginning Monday, August 3rd Through Friday, August 14th

Details:
In order to comply with changes in the Massachusetts Data Security Laws and to increase protection from viruses and other malware programs we have replaced our current software (McAfee) with a more comprehensive application suite called ESET NOD32. Due to the complex removal of the current application and the installation of the new application the staff from LIS Technology Support will be completing the work for you. The process takes between 30 and 60 minutes to complete.

What You Need To Do:
During the timeframe listed above, please have your Windows computer(s) available to us at your location. Staff from Tech Support will visit you to do the installation, if it is a bad time for you to be away from your computer we will reschedule the install. You do not have to be present for the work to be done.

Helpful info can be found here: http://www.wheatoncollege.edu/technology/started/nod32.html

That’s all you need to do!

Please note: Our McAfee coverage has not been renewed and will end shortly. The new install of this application must take place or your computer will not have up to date antivirus protection on it!

If you have any questions or concerns about this upgrade please contact Sue Morgado at 508.286.3754 or smorgado@wheatonma.edu. You may also contact the LIS Technical Support Staff at 508.286.3900 or at support@wheatoncollege.edu

Thank You~
